Building Boards with the Environment in Mind
Recognizing that we have a duty to continually strive to lessen our environmental impact and to be transparently accountable for our business operations is our driving force. All manufacturing has an effect on the environment, and we do everything we can to reduce that impact. Investing in machinery, alternative material research, and more effiecent product logistics has had a positive impact on our production and the environment; state-of-the-art machinery has reduced waste, improved quality, and increased safety.

Introducing Bloom Foam
Sourcing Our Own Solutions

Bio-Based Resin
Surftech is innovating and producing environmentally friendlier boards derived from bio based resins (GreenPoxy®), purposed molded EPS cores and recyclable alternative materials to reduce the impact on the environment. We also build boards that last longer, fewer broken boards = less waste. We are committed surfers that are focused on keeping our oceans and planet clean.

BLOOM FOAM (ALGEA BASED DECK PAD)
BLOOM harvests algae from freshwater sources at high risk of algal blooms. Bloom harvesting process helps freshwater ecosystems by removing excess algae and recirculating fresh water back into the habitat. Select DeckPads featuring Bloom foam contains 20% algae biomass, which helps offset the use of non-renewable petrochemical ingredients

Eco-Packaging
We’re committed to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging by eliminating plastic and other harmful materials. Our solution protects your board during transit and naturally degrades after use. Each board is wrapped in a mix of unlaminated kraft paper and tissue paper. We're not fully there yet—but we're all in on making our packaging 100% sustainable.
Inspired by nature and crafted from sustainably harvested timber, the Madera collection combines the strength and beauty of wood with a lightweight EPS core and epoxy seal for a high-performance, durable board that test riders couldn’t break—and didn’t want to.
Sustainable Technologies

NFT
Natural Fiber Technology (NFT) combines naturally derived fibers and E-glass in a vacuum-bagged layup for optimal strength-to-weight performance and a smooth, natural feel. The flax fibers not only replace much of the fiberglass but also enhance dampening for a predictable, responsive ride. Its clean, minimal look is as refined as the way it surfs.

Madera
Inspired by Einstein’s advice to “look deep into nature,” the Madera collection is built using sustainably harvested timber chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio and natural beauty. Each board features a lightweight EPS core wrapped in a durable wooden shell and sealed with epoxy for added rigidity and water resistance. The result is a high-performance, long-lasting board that impressed every test rider with its durability and feel.

CocoFlax and Cocomat
NSP’s award-winning CocoMat construction uses natural coconut fibers to create a lightweight, durable board with a reduced environmental impact. Water-based dye pigments and flax fiber rails further enhance sustainability, replacing toxic additives and reducing fiberglass use. The result is the eco-conscious CocoFlax range—strong, stylish, and better for the planet.

Partnering for a Healthier Planet
In 2023, we partnered with SeaTrees, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring coastal ecosystems and reversing climate change.

Sharing the Stoke with Takayama Surfboards
We teamed up with DT Surfboards to start up local nonprofits to teach about ocean safety, respect, and of-course, surfing.
